Sitting at the desk, staring at the assignment with words so meaningless to me.I look out of the window and see sparrows frolicking in the sky.
Amidst the whirling of the fan, I hear them singing their joyful song.
What an irony it is, to be able to have a life so merry and yet be forced to run this race.
To want to soar like an eagle, but not be able to.
Will I ever get my ticket to freedom?
Will I get to escape this life I have?
Will I one day be free from expectations?
Will I ever be able to sing my own song?
On the window, I see a face.
A reflection of myself.
But it is not who I am.
I never wanted to be here.
But I am.
And when I look back down at the assignment, the pristine sheet waiting to be filled, I begin writing.
I have to.
This is reality...
